Worldtech Systems recently completed a data migration project on a mission critical legacy system. The legacy was developed by an individual who was no longer available, no documentation existed and there was no formal structure to the data.

The system was being used by over 200 people throughout several branches and the data contained all client, policy and commissions data for over 10,000 clients.

Following an initial data analysis and feasibility study Worldtech Systems extract all data items from all records and imported into a structured relational transitional MySQL database. Once the data was extracted, Worldtech Systems wrote and array of reports to prove the integrity of the data. The output of each report was then manually compared by the client against all existing reports.

Daily exports effectively providing back ups were completed by the client ensuring security and integrity of data. Worldtech was then commissioned to complete their new application development, migrating the transitional database to the final application database once completed.
